Our Story

The church was founded in 1870 by Rev. Samuel Gettig, who had served during the Civil War as a Union Army surgeon. The original building faced Pierce Road (Indiana Highway 4). It was replaced in 1943 by the part which now serves as the Sunday School and fellowship Hall. A new addition was built in 1968.

                                                                                Our Beliefs

    The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and it is the basis for our beliefs and teachings.

We believe that God is one but exists in three persons, God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in salvation by faith through the Lord Jesus Christ, and that there is no other way to heaven except through Jesus Christ. We are saved by believing in Jesus, asking for forgiveness, repenting of our sins, and following the Lord Jesus Christ..

Our Focus

We believe worship is giving glory, honor, and praise to God. On Sunday, as we gather together, it is our intention to personally encounter Almighty God through song, praises, prayer, the Word, and His Spirit. During the week, worship is what we do individually as we live our lives for God.

We believe fellowship is essential to a strong Christian  walk and develops unity as believers share in common.

We believe God answers prayer in our personal and church lives.

We believe it is essential to share the good news of Jesus with those who don’t know him personally because lost people matter to God and to us.

We believe that it is extremely important to make disciples of Jesus Christ and bring believers to maturity in Christ.

We believe every believer is a minister and all believers are to use their spiritual gifts to serve others.

Our Goal

Our goal is to multiply the number of followers of Jesus Christ in our community by loving and serving people, sharing the good news of salvation, and helping those who believe become disciples of Jesus
